Synthetic Thatch Roofing
Traditionally, thatched roofing would be created out of natural materials such as straw or reed, however there are many advantages of choosing synthetic reed to create attractive thatched roofing. In areas that experience heavy rainfall and high humidity that can shorten the lifespan of natural reed, the combination of the UVA rays and moisture ages the reeds faster than in normal conditions. In these settings, synthetic thatched roofing is preferable, as it is an excellent alternative to the traditional natural reed.
Our synthetic thatching material imitates the real natural product and it offers much better longevity and durability, compared to similar products on the market today. The synthetic material is available in two options, palm and reed, both of which have a life expectancy of over 50 years and are available in a wide range of colours.
The synthetic fibres are manufactured in tile format and polyolefin filaments are used to replicate the natural reed to produce beautiful natural looking thatch. A strip of reinforced polyurethane is used to glue the simulated reed canes to the tile. The allows the tile to be stapled, screwed or nail to the wooden structure, no matter where in the world, giving your home, bar, hotel, resort or restaurant a beautiful worry-free thatched roof.
