Fireshield

Cape Reed’s reputation for creating high quality outdoor wooden structures with natural reed / thatch roofing also extends the provision of ‘Fireshield’ to protect the structures. Fireshield is a scientifically certified fire resistant and fire-retardant treatment which coats and protects the natural materials used in Cape Reed’s outdoor wooden structures.

Sustainable, non-toxic formula
The intumescent coating is chemically formulated to significantly increase fire resistance to reed, wood and other natural materials. The formula is water based with no toxic elements, making it completely sustainable and user friendly for both the user and the environment.

Simple, cost effective and long lasting
Applying Fireshield is quick and easy process. The liquid is sprayed on to the structure / material which required protection. There are two types of Fireshield:

  • FRC 101 for thatch and reed roofs and other structures - provides 3 years of protection.
  • FRC 102 for wood structures (soft and hard wood but is not suitable for flooring) - provides 5-years of protection.
