Cape Reed was asked to renovate this villa in Marbella including a total transformation of the terrace to provide a beautiful functional outdoor space that they could enjoy all year round. The clients enjoy a busy social life therefore it was important to create dedicated area where they could entertain their guests.
The owners love to receive visitors and their first priority was to create an exclusive area for entertaining guests. A wooden structure and African reed became the perfect place to enjoy meals and chat late into the summer night. The white pickled finish of the wood and the yellow of the natural thatched roof provide a rustic and elegant ambience that the owners completed with lamps and furniture made of wicker and bamboo.
Cape Reed’s design team also provided a solution for one of the courtyards which was exposed to strong sunlight throughout the day, which made it too hot during summer. The implementation of wood pergolas changed the space from virtually unusable to a beautiful space to relax and soak up the views. Eucalyptus wood slats were used on top of the pergola to provide maximum shade throughout the long hot summer days.
The elevated position of the property provided spectacular views across golf courses and the Mediterranean Sea, however, the space felt too open. Cape Reed zoned the spaces by installing decorative wood lattices around the swimming pool and entertainment area, providing a touch of intimacy to each area.
